8/17/18 – LA bar legend Josh Goldman came up with this gem for a party we hosted last November. Spirit-forward and just the right amount of sweet, the hint of peach and orange beautifully compliment the Reposado and bring out this subtle, fruity bouquet of flavors.
7/13/18 – It’s hot out. Which means it’s time to make yourself something cool and tropical. A classic Chartreuse Swizzle is one of our all time favorite Tiki drinks and it’s honestly even tastier with Revel added to it. This is a monster of a drink- 2.5 ounces of booze – so tread lightly! Happy summer!
5/22/18 – Andrew Parish of Orange County’s Central Bar came up with this beauty. Hickory smoked agave is the key to the deliciousness here. Obviously you’ll need a smoking gun (you can buy one on Amazon for around $80), but if that’s too much work, you could always trade smoke for spice and infuse the agave with jalapeños!
5/20/18 – Campari is an acquired taste, we know. You either love Negroni’s or you hate them.
So… for those who love them, try this riff on the Italian classic. Again, we didn’t want to mess too much with such a perfectly balanced drink, so here, the Avila replaces gin. We found the subtle smoke of the Avila cuts the bitterness of the Campari rather nicely. Some may refer to this drink as an “Agavoni”. Call it what you will, it’s straight up delicious.
4/12/18 – Ah, the Old Fashioned. A true classic the likes of which has had its recipe evolve (and debated) over centuries.
The name says it all. It’s old. One of the very first cocktails in fact – invented in 1880 by aristocrat James E. Pepper. And whether you drink your classic Old Fashioned with Rye or Bourbon, fruit muddled or not (we don’t condone!); many dark (and sometimes light) spirit riffs have been inspired by this drink over the years.
We’ve put our own spin on it, and since Revel Avila Reposado is aged in American oak whiskey barrels, we figured we’d be doing this classic justice. In an effort of keeping with the most traditional way of serving the drink, we’ve kept it simple. A few subtle other flavors perfectly compliment the Avila but also let it shine.
3/17/18 – It’s so satisfying when a recipe so simple can be this delicious. The only booze you’ll need in this one is Revel Avila Blanco. Mix your sea salt with an equal part of cayenne pepper on a plate beforehand and sprinkle it on the beautiful foamy top the honey gives this cocktail. You’ll end up with a complex yet straight-forward blend of tart, sweet and spicy.
For those playing at home – We recommend a 1:1 ratio for the honey syrup: dump the honey in a saucepan with equal parts water and mix on a medium heat until it’s perfectly combined. (Be sure to let it cool before you get shaking, or it’ll dilute your drink too much!)
3/17/18 – Spring is almost here! To celebrate, we came up with this delicious champagne cocktail that’s light, fun and refreshing. The color on this one is stunning thanks to the muddled strawberry, which could be subbed with a raspberry if that’s more your speed.
2/16/18 – We were already huge fans of this beautifully colored “semi -classic” (In that it came about as recently as 2006). It’s like the love child of a Hemingway Daiquiri and a Margarita, (with tequila subbed for rum and Campari for maraschino liqueur).
So when we tried it with Revel Avila Blanco’s existing citrus notes, we found it beautifully complemented the lime, grapefruit and orange flavors already in this recipe.
The subtle smokiness of the Avila also blends well with the bitter Campari and the result is a perfectly balanced mix of sweet, bitter and tart that is undeniably refreshing.
